a new type of san francisco scavenger hunt - about
Our Mission
The mission of the Scavenger Crawl is to raise awareness and advocacy for the varied non-profits benefiting the Bay Area. The Scavenger Crawl aims to do so in a manner that is fun, healthy and supportive of local community members and businesses.
Our Vision
The Scavenger Crawl aims to grow in the size and scope of the race each consecutive quarter. Growth will allow the Scavenger Crawl non-profit to benefit more organizations and increase awareness of the good and positive impact they are contributing to the local community.
A Little History
2009 marked a great year for us. We kicked off with the first official Awesome Race in May. The Awesome Race was a wacky scavenger hunt throughout San Francisco. We had over 40 people come out that day and decided to raise the bar for the next race.
During summer of 2009, we decided to re-brand The Awesome Race as the Scavenger Crawl and officially incorporate as a non-profit. That’s right, we looked at the bigger picture and decided to partner with a cause. What better way than to support our local non-profit organizations?
In April 2010, Scavenger Crawl became a California tax-exempt non-profit. More recently, we obtained our 501(c)(3) status in May 2010.
